The Ferskvandcentret (or Freshwater Center) is a national center for the water environment, as well as a popular meeting venue. Housed in the former Vejlsoehus, a sanitorium built in 1903, the center is surrounded by the Gudenaaen River, the Silkeborg lakes and a large tract of forest.
