Brisbane is the capital of Queensland Australia – with year-round subtropical weather also called the “Sunshine State” – and with interesting historic sites, beautiful parklands, exceptional wining & dining options and a diverse natural beauty on its doorstep, it makes a great destination for this year’s IACC AAP Conference.

- European settlers established Brisbane in 1824 as a penal colony for recidivist convicts from Sydney.
- Although born on the Isle of Man in the UK, The Bee Gees were raised in Brisbane (Redcliffe and Cribb Island)
- There are 103 koalas to cuddle at Lone Pine Sanctuary
- Brisbane was the busiest submarine port in the world during World War II
- North Stradbroke Island and Moreton Island (50 mins and 75 mins ferry ride from Brisbane respectively) are the 2nd and 3rd largest sand islands in the world
