UNIQUE VENUES TEAMS WITH WORLD VISION TO GIVE BACK

JOHNSTOWN, PA (January 27, 2010) -- Unique Venues
Unique Venues, the global online portal for meeting and event venues, partnered with World Vision for their annual giving project. Unique Venues’ members donated dozens of backpacks fully stocked with school supplies which will be distributed through World Vision to children in need throughout the United States.
According to Jim Fischerkeller, Senior Director of Corporate Relations for World Vision, “For children everywhere, education is the best hope for breaking free from poverty. Yet even school supplies are hard to come by for the millions of U.S. children whose families struggle just to pay rent and buy food. To help ensure these children have the tools they need to learn, World Vision provides school essentials throughout the year to students in greatest need.“
Recognizing World Vision for their humanitarian charity work dedicated to children and families, Unique Venues invited their members to participate by donating backpacks. According to Chuck Salem, President of Unique Venues, “we were thrilled with the response and the willingness of people to donate in these tough economic times. Such a donation can last a lifetime, and provide a child not only with basic learning tools, but also with the added confidence he or she needs to be successful in school.”
Unique Venues member, Don Williams of The Conference Center at Waltham Woods in Waltham Woods, MA participated in the project and thanks Unique Venues for spearheading the donations and brining attention to US children in need. “We were happy to get involved with Unique Venues with this timely and worthwhile cause” said Williams, General Manager.
In total, more than 40,000 backpacks are distributed by World Vision throughout the course of the year. The World Vision Storehouse provides school supplies, clothes, toys, household goods and building supplies to strengthen families, schools and neighborhoods.
