Featured Destination – Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland is based around 2 large harbours, is a major city in the north of New Zealand’s North Island. In the centre, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens.

Our range of venues means we can host any group from three to 3000 people – including two large purpose-built convention centres and a number of hotels and venues that cater for large-scale conferencing. And with 6000 hotel rooms from 5 to 2-stars in our central business district alone, finding and choosing accommodation is easy.

With a population of 1.5 million and growing, Auckland is the financial and economic powerhouse of New Zealand, contributing over 35 per cent of national gross domestic product. We’re also the nation’s tech hub, with more than 20,000 innovation-based companies.

We have an exceptional track record of hosting major international events and large-scale conferences to world-class standards, from sporting tournaments like the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to the international Tripartite Economic Summit 2016.

We’re by far the most connected city in New Zealand. With 18 international airlines flying direct to Auckland from 32 destinations around the world, and only one direct flight away from major cities in Australia, Asia and east coast US, we’re closer than you think.

Fresh, diverse, globally-inspired and gourmet are just a few of the words to describe our dining scene. Being home to a melting pot of cultures, you’ll find a huge range of traditional and modern cuisine throughout our restaurants across the city. For a special day out, take a vineyard tour on Waiheke Island, one of Auckland’s wine regions.
