Hilton Chicago | Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center

10 November 2016

IACC recognizes the vital role that food service plays in conference centre operations. Once again, we are proud to announce that we have begun planning for IACC’s 14th Annual Copper Skillet Global Chef of the Year Competition.

This competition is designed to highlight the artistry and skills of IACC-member conference venue chefs from around the world and to honor their contributions to our shared goal of providing an outstanding conference experience.

The first stage in the competition is to invite IACC chefs to participate in their country competitions. IACC invites U.S. chefs to submit entries for the IACC Copper Skillet U.S. Cook-off taking place on Thursday, November 10 at the Hilton Chicago | Oak Brook Hills Resort & Conference Center – Oak Brook, IL.

There are two categories of entry:

  1. A senior category (26 years of age and older)
  2. A junior category (under 26 years)

The junior and senior winners from the USA Cook-off will advance to stage 2 of the competition—at the Americas Chapter Cook-off—where they will compete against the Canadian junior and senior chefs. The Americas chapter cook-off will take place in early February. Date and venue location will be confirmed prior to the US cook-off.

The final stage of the competition is the Global Copper Skillet Final taking place on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in Los Angeles, where six chefs will vie for the coveted Copper Skillet award.

Chefs should review the Copper Skillet international guidelines, which can be found by clicking here. The deadline for submitting entries is Friday, October 21, 2016, with selected participants being notified by Friday, October 28—two weeks prior to the competition.
