IACC Copper Skillet ‘Rings in the Changes’

Members of IACC have long recognised the vital role that foodservice plays in conference centre operations. As a result, the Copper Skillet Competition has been considered a flagship event in the IACC Chapters and Global calendar. The competition highlights the artistry and skills of IACC-member conference centre chefs from around the world and honours their contributions to members shared goal of providing an outstanding conference experience.

For the 2014/15 competition, there will be some exciting new enhancements to the competition that IACC is pleased to share with members.

  • 2 Category of Entry for Junior & Senior Chefs
  • IACC Chapter Finals

Junior & Senior Categories of Entry
Starting this year, there will be two categories of entry, consisting of a senior category (26 years of age and older) and a junior category (under 26 years). Both categories compete in the same cook-off competition, with the same rules. Each category will be judged separately.

Chapter Finals
The three IACC Chapters (Americas, Europe & Australia Asia Pacific) will stage a Chapter Final. Finalists will comprise of winners from the Country Cook-off’s. Each Chapter will then award a Junior and Senior winner who will go on to compete in the IACC Copper Skillet Global Final at the Americas Conference in April 2015 in Florida, USA.

IACC’s Global President, Peter Stewart commented “We are delighted to add a new junior category to the Copper Skillet, making the competition even more accessible to young chefs looking to career and self development”.

Members will be contacted by their Chapter with further details on entry submissions as well as registration details to attend the Copper Skillet events.
