B.C. Pavilion Corporation (PavCo) is a Provincial Crown Corporation and has a rich history of leadership in the meetings, events, and sports industries. Part of the PavCo family, BC Place Stadium is a state-of-the-art venue like no other and is the largest sports, exhibition, and entertainment venue of its kind in British Columbia, hosting the province’s most notable events. BC Place is recognized around the world as a landmark of Vancouver’s skyline and a place of pride for all British Columbians. The stadium is honoured to be able to help bring awareness to events, charities, and non-profit causes that are important to communities in British Columbia and is an important generator of economic activity in British Columbia, hosting world-class entertainment events, professional and amateur sport, community gatherings, and exhibitions.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of PavCo and a member of the PavCo senior leadership team, the General Manager is responsible for the operational and financial success of BC Place Stadium. In delivering on this mandate, the General Manager will ensure BC Place operates as a best-in-class facility while maximizing the stadium’s economic benefits to the province and cementing Vancouver as a premier destination for world class sporting and entertainment events. The General Manager will lead a motivated and empowered team of business and operational professionals as well as outsourced suppliers and third-party partners to deliver an unparalleled attendee experience while also fostering long-term, collaborative relationships with key internal and community stakeholders in order to ensure the long-term success of the facility.

The ideal candidate has a track record in creating outstanding, memorable, and unique guest experiences through operational excellence. Known for their creativity and strong leadership, they will have gained experience with major stadiums, arenas, conference centres, attractions, or similar, and will be as comfortable setting strategic direction as they are overseeing the details to ensure the customer, client, and team member experience is second-to-none. An outstanding culture builder and leader of people, the General Manager will be adept at creating a collaborative environment of open and productive communication, measured risk taking, accountability, and pride in all people do. They are comfortable and experienced at participating at senior leadership and Board tables, and are able to set out, monitor, and report on results in a meaningful and useful way. Key to the General Manager’s success is their ability to build relationships at all levels and convey a sense of excellence and urgency in an effort to meet common goals and objectives.
