Job Description
The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, a AAA 4-diamond luxury property, is hiring an experienced Group Sales Manager to work 5 days a week, 8 hours a day selling our family of three hotels: the Inn, JB Duke Hotel, and The Lodge at Duke Medical Center. Ideal candidates are enthusiastic, goal driven and competitive salespeople who love to succeed. They must possess exceptional selling skills and a proven ability to close business along with strong interpersonal skills. An ability to work well with current and potential clients via phone, email, and in person is critical. Hospitality or sales experience with a working knowledge of Delphi, Knowland and Cvent is a plus.
The right candidate will be responsible for the sales solicitation of new and repeat business. They will accomplish this by developing a deployment plan based on territorial responsibilities; responding promptly to all inquiries and correspondence from customers, prospects, and lead referrals; quickly responding to requests by the Area Director of Sales for reports and other assignments; and by performing other duties as assigned by the Area Director of Sales. A keen awareness of the competition and ability to sell against them is crucial, as is a continual focus on maintaining hotel standards.
A minimum of 5 years of hotel sales experience are required. Association selling experience is highly preferred.
