Mark your calendars! Hospitality Awareness Week is coming, and it’s your chance to celebrate, elevate, and inspire within one of the world’s most dynamic industries! This IACC initiative is all about shining a spotlight on the hospitality sector—its incredible people, its vital purpose, and its immense potential.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just thinking about joining the field, this week is a perfect moment to connect, reflect, and champion the people who make hospitality truly exceptional.
When is Hospitality Awareness Week?
Get ready for five days of inspiration! Hospitality Awareness Week runs from Monday, February 23rd to Friday, February 27th, 2026.
Who Are We Looking For?
We’re excited to invite everyone! While all IACC members are encouraged to participate, we’re also extending a warm welcome to industry colleagues.
Our target audience is diverse and includes:
- Classes and students
- Professionals from schools and universities
- Anyone with a keen interest in the hospitality industry
- Those considering a career in hospitality
- Professionals already in the field seeking inspiration
The whole week is focused on igniting a passion for the hospitality profession among potential future colleagues through knowledge-sharing, educational workshops, and supportive discussions.
What Can We Do? The Ideas Are Endless!
The best part? You can do anything! All ideas are welcome. The goal is to give back, grow forward, and remind everyone why hospitality is so amazing.
Here are a few options to get your creative juices flowing:
- Student Competitions: Host hospitality-themed contests like culinary challenges, hotel management simulations, or event planning challenges to foster teamwork and creativity.
- Field Trips/Open Days: Give a behind-the-scenes look at operations by organising visits to hotels, restaurants, or convention centers.
- Career Fairs: Arrange hospitality-focused career fairs and encourage interactive booths to highlight diverse opportunities.
- Mentorship Programs: Establish programs where experienced professionals guide and support aspiring ones, offering advice, networking, and industry insights. Mentors can even assist with CVs and interview prep.
- Collaboration with Educational Institutions: Work with schools and colleges to incorporate hospitality-related curriculum, guest lectures, or practical training sessions.
- Career Guidance Workshops: Cover essential topics like resume building, interview skills, and the transferable skills gained in the industry.
- Essay Writing Competitions: Ask local students to write a brief essay on what hospitality means to them, and reward the winner with a family meal or a behind-the-scenes tour.
- Speed Networking: Arrange a speed networking event (in-person or virtual!) with students or schools to help people learn about different roles and why people love them.
